Pagekin is an EPUB reader for iPhone. This policy explains how the app and this support website handle information. Pagekin does not require a Pagekin account.
Books and reading data
Your imported EPUB files, library information, reading progress, bookmarks, and reading preferences are stored in app storage. The app uses your iCloud Documents storage when available and falls back to local device storage otherwise. iCloud is provided by Apple and is governed by your Apple account settings and Apple's privacy policy. Pagekin's developer does not operate a server that receives or stores your library.
Translation caches and service usage records are stored locally on your device. API keys are stored in the iOS Keychain with device-only protection; Pagekin does not send them to a developer-operated server.
Optional translation services
Translation uses a service you configure, such as Gemini or an OpenAI-compatible endpoint. To process a translation request, Pagekin sends the necessary book text, translation instructions, chosen model and language settings, and authentication information directly to that service. Model discovery also contacts the configured service with authentication information.
You can request translation explicitly. If you enable automatic translation or prefetch, additional text may be sent as you read or in preparation for later pages. These options are off by default. Basic importing and reading work without configuring translation.
Providers may charge for requests and may retain request content, service logs, or account information under their own policies. Requests made with your API key may be associated with your provider account. Review the policy of each endpoint you choose; Pagekin does not control its retention, training, or account-linking practices.
Analytics, advertising, and tracking
Pagekin does not include developer-operated analytics, advertising SDKs, or cross-app advertising tracking. We do not sell personal information.
Retention and deletion
You can remove books from the library and manage app settings and translation credentials. Retained iCloud copies are controlled through your Apple account and iCloud storage; uninstalling the app does not necessarily erase those copies. Third-party translation providers manage data they receive under their own retention and deletion procedures.
Support and this website
If you email us, we receive the information you choose to send, including your email address, message, and attachments, and use it to respond to your request. Do not include API keys, passwords, or other unnecessary sensitive information.
This website is hosted by Cloudflare. Hosting and security services may process network request information such as IP address and browser information to deliver and protect the site. The site does not embed advertising or third-party analytics scripts and does not request access to your Pagekin library.
Security and changes
Pagekin uses iOS security features and HTTPS for translation requests. No storage or transmission method can guarantee absolute security. Avoid sending sensitive book text to services you do not trust.
We may update this policy as features or obligations change. The current version is published here with its update date.
